Thomson Instrument Company SINGLE StEP Empty Columns (patented) are available in a wide range of sizes that allow for seamless connection to FPLC/LPLC/MPLC systems. These columns are designed for use with Gravity or FPLC/LPLC/MPLC (up to 200 PSI) in sizes that range from 10mL-650mL (4g – 300g). Both top & bottom connections are standard Luer fittings. Thomson also offers a 1.2L resin reservoir that simplifies column loading. The 1.2L reservoir screws directly to the top of 25g, 40g and 80g SINGLE StEP Empty Columns for easy loading of buffers, solvents and samples to minimize contamination and sample loss. Can be used as a gravity eluted column or a flash column (as described by W.C. Still, M. Kahn and A. Mitra of Columbia University in JOURNAL OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY 43, 2923 [1978], and covered in U.S. Patent Number 4,293,422 dated October 6, 1981) when used with optional CG-1195 flow controller and CG-1194 reservoir. Column is constructed using MEDIUM WALL TUBING. Glass wool (not supplied) is used to support column packing. Lower end of the column has a round bottom. Connections between the column, reservoir and flow control adapter are made using Rodaviss joints. The unique design of the Rodaviss joint affords a grease free seal while holding glassware together without clamps. Column is supplied complete with a CG-182 open top cap and o-ring.
